What is the proof for someone’s love of Allah, the Prophet and the Ahlulbayt (Peace be upon them all)?

( Section : Beliefs )

Question :

What is the proof for someone’s love of Allah, the Prophet and the Ahlulbayt (Peace be upon them all)?

Answer :

In His Name the Most High,
All praise is due to Allah, may peace be upon Muhammed and his pure progeny and may the curse of Allah be upon their enemies.

The Office Answer:

The Quran answers this question very clearly by stating that if you love Allah, then follow his book. If someone adheres to all the commandments, then that is a sign of his love for Allah. The following of the Ahlulbayt (Peace be upon them) is equally a sign for this love. We even read in Bakri sources that the Prophet (Peace be upon him and his pure family) announced that he who angers his pure family also angers Allah. Therefore those who angered Fatima (Peace be upon her) over the Fadak issue also angered Allah and cannot be considered as those who love and dedicate themselves to Him.

Today even simple religious acts show this dedication, as for example not drinking water while standing at night, which is not forbidden, but at the same time has been ruled as undesirable by the Ahlulbayt (Peace be upon them). Even scientists have recently discovered that this is not a recommendable act due to its effect on the digestive system at that late hour in the day. The believer abstains from this, even if it is not forbidden, as he wishes to follow the teachings of his religion which has been given to him by his Lord, to whom he is faithful. Equally, the not adhering to the Islamic clothing recommendations by the Muslims today is a sign for the lack of love for Allah and his teachings.
