There are many today who claim to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (Peace be upon him and his pure family), but when we take a closer look at their teachers, we discover that they are following anything else than his Sunnah and teachings, since they rejected Imam Ali (Peace be upon him).

Sheikh Yasser Al-Habib explained that if one really wants to discover the true teaching of Islam, one had to accept the Imams of the Prophet’s pure family (Peace be upon them all) as teachers. People say they accept and follow them, but obtain most of their knowledge from others, especially from amongst the companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him and his pure family). Omar himself refused guidance when he denied the request of the Prophet (Peace be upon him and his pure family) for a pen and paper as explained in the Calamity of Thursday hadeeth which can be found in Sahih Bukari. Omar was the first enemy of the Sunnah, as he ordered the collection of hadeeth, and then had them burnt. Bakri sources admit that the Tarawih prayer is an innovation, so how can it be the Sunnah?

Sheikh Yasser Al-Habib asked how they can respect Imam Ali (Peace be upon him) and follow his teachings, when the early followers of Abu Bakr had rejected him until Ibn Hanbal added him to the respected Caliphs due to pressure from the Shia. Aisha’s rebelling against Imam Ali (Peace be upon him) is mentioned numerous times in Bakri sources and that the two were opposed to each other, but Bakris today consider both to be their teachers at the same time. How is this possible? Can they really be following her after accepting Imam Ali (Peace be upon him)?

The Sheikh went on to explain that even Bukhari did not accept Imam Ali (Peace be upon him) as a caliph, as he said that there was no one better than Abu Bakr, Omar and Othman. And how can they claim to follow Imam Hussain (Peace be upon him) when they accept Muawiyya and Yazid at the same time?

As often, we discover that the Bakri faith is based upon the rejection of research into history and the rejection of Imam Ali and the Imams (Peace be upon them all) and that their claim to be following the pure family of the Prophet (Peace be upon them all) is a false one.
