Sheikh al-Habib heard of the arrest of Azhari Sheikh Hassan Shehata and a group of believers by the notorious Egyptian state security apparatus. The Sheikh and the members of his office expressed serious concern, and demanded that the Egyptian authorites reveal the fate of the Sheikh and guarantee their safety.

The Sheikh considered that what the authorities did, was out of fear of Shia Muslims in Egypt and the voice of the truth, which would cause the people leave their falsehood and embrace the truth. It is this what drives them to fight the Shia tide that swept through their country and destroys the basis of their beliefs. The Egyptian regime thinks that people are still living like prior to technological development and tries to reduce the Shia tide, which threatens thrones that rely on an alliance with Zionism and the enemies of Islam.

The Sheikh calls on this and other systems that are fighting Shia Muslims to take lessons from history, which is full of previous examples of systems and rulers who fought against Shia-Islam, but failed, while Shia-Islam remained strong like a mountain. Sheikh al-Habib called on all believing men and women to pray to God for the release of Sheikh Allama Hassan Shehata and those believers arrested with him, and that Allah may take revenge on the oppressors.
