Sheikh al-Habib has condoled the demise of Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Baqir Alam al-Huda who has recently passed away in the holy city of Mashhad, Iran on the 6th of Ramadhan 1431, after a life dedicated to spreading the knowledge of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and standing up against the deviant philosophical (Falsafa) and mystical (Irfan) beliefs.
His eminence issued a condolence statement in which he expressed his great sorrow for the loss of Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Baqir Alam al-Huda. In his statement he said:
“We have received with great sorrow the news of the demise of Faqih Ahlulbayt (A title given to those who are expert in Islamic jurisprudence), Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Baqir Alam al-Huda (May Allah raise his grades in paradise) who answered the call of his Lord on Tuesday in the Holy city of Mashhad.”
The deceased was one of the greatest scholars and most prominent leaders of the Tafkikiyah School who courageously objected and stood up against the deviant philosophical and mystical movements. The Tafkikiyah School is a school in the Hawza Ilmiyah of Mashhad, which was originally founded by Ayatollah Al-Muqadas Mirza Mehdi Isfahani (May Allah be pleased with him).
Sheikh al-Habib said in his statement that it is very unfortunate to lose such a great scholar at this time, when the scholars and students in the Hawzat Ilmiyah are heading back to the originality of the teachings of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and realising how the philosophical and mystical beliefs lead to deviation and disbelief.
His eminence concluded by saying: “I send my sincere condolences to the Master of command, Imam Mehdi (peace be upon him), Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq al-Shirazi (May Allah prolong his life), our teacher Sayed Mujtaba (May Allah prolong his life), and to the righteous scholars.
“I also send my condolences to the students of the dear deceased as well as his noble family and I ask Allah the Most Exalted to bestow His mercy upon him, admit him into Paradise and gather him together with the Prophet and his pure household (peace be upon them).”
